Recreate is an educational service that provides music and creative learning interventions and opportunities to individuals and groups from disadvantaged backgrounds and communities.

“Recreate aims to address the limited provision for music and creative industries based learning and has identified an opportunity to develop and implement an innovative and engaging means of learning through delivery of a music and creative industries based educational experience to learners and service users, enabling both young people and adults from socially excluded circumstances to engage in lifelong learning, develop skills and increase employability and wellbeing in order to become empowered citizens in their own lives and communities.

Recreate is an innovative venture to enhance and enable young people and adults to engage in music and creativity as a cultural practice and provides opportunities for individuals and groups who are in need of more chances, opportunities and support to be enabled and empowered individuals and to achieve and maintain their full potential to allow for lasting change to their individual situations and circumstances.

Recreate is directed and led by John McBlain; a former student and graduate of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, University of Paisley and University of the West of Scotland with experience of working in the Creative Industries for over ten years and Education Sector for five years.”
