“PROJECT BANDCAMP is an intensive training and production course designed to emulate the creative process of music creation alongside the entrepreneurial acumen needed to release music to an audience.

Over a 2 week period, a group of individuals engage as a team in the process of idea generation, music creation and music promotion before releasing the music track via a live launch event.”

Project Bandcamp was born in 2011 as an educational programme for encouraging engagement in creative practise. Using music as the medium for engagement, Project Bandcamp allowed a number of disadvantaged individuals access and opportunity to experience the creative process of the music industry and the 360 artist model.

The groups and individuals also had the opportunity to present, promote and lauch their music at various Live Launch Events to an audience of music industry professionals, education professionals, local council members, local community groups, friends, family and peers, who all took away exclusive CD promo packs with exclusive content and promotional material!

The programme was a great success, running between July 2011 and December 2011, allowing for 6 musical artefacts to be produced and made available for download on soundcloud.com/projectbandcamp.

The first track Monday Morning Queen was created through the pilot programme:
